mailing list resources - briefing

Mailing lists provide the same benefit to a research as newsgroups.  The key difference is that mailing lists are emailed to subscribers, typically daily, whereas newsgroups are more interactive.  Like newsgroups, mailing lists are topical and provide an excellent source of information on highly segmented groups of individuals.  The links below are not all-inclusive, but they do represent a veritable treasure of mailing list content - enjoy!

Liszt.com Another huge directory of mailing lists - Excellent!
Publicly Accessible Mailing Lists A very large collection of mailing lists that markets themselves as: "We're better because we actively keep our mailing list entries up to date. We might not be the biggest, but we personally guarantee that our listings are the most accurate." - Excellent!
John Labovitz's e-zine-list Hasn't been updated in awhile and is seeking a person to maintain it - Poor.
e-zinez.com Excellent resource for mailing list managers, offering free content, software, hosting, ad networks, and content management software - Excellent - but not for recruitment research.
