Keep in mind that the left button is for selecting and the right button is for menus.
Put your mouse cursor over a word in a sentence. Clicking once places your cursor where you clicked, clicking twice selects the entire word and clicking three times selects the entire sentence. Much easier than trying to swipe what you want.
When using your mouse try and keep your hands off your keyboard as much as possible. For example, after selecting some information, use the cut and paste icons on your toolbar rather than using the keyboard.
When in Windows Explorer, always use your right mouse button to drag a file from one location to another. After you drag the file and let go of the mouse button, you get a menu giving you total control over whether you want to copy, move or create a shortcut to the file you have selected.
From inside Word, select any item of interest and drag it with you right mouse button onto your Windows desktop, then let go. Click create scrap here. A quick and easy to grab a bit of information for later.
From your Start button on your Windows desktop, click Settings / Control Panel, then click on the Mouse icon. There are many setting available including setting making it more visible for you.
